CAREGIVER TAX SERVICES is a group which specializes in providing top-notch Nanny and Caregiver Payroll services.

When you sign up for our Payroll services, we will take care of all the administrative tasks on your behalf as the Employer. 

  1. We will register for a Payroll business number (if you don’t have one)
  2. Calculate your Caregiver’s pay and email you your Caregiver’s wage statement or you can get it via our Private Secure site
  3. All you would have to do is print it for her or forward it via email
  4. At month end we even pay the monthly tax remittance to Canada Revenue Agency on your behalf  (see below for details)
  5. In some provinces you will need to register for Workers’ compensation. We take care of that too

Payroll Services

We perform tax calculations, filings, remittances, provide advice on labour law and manage your payroll account with Canada Revenue Agency.  Initial Registration

  • Set up Payroll account with Caregiver Tax Services
  • Set up business account with Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) if one is not already present

$100 one time fee

 Payroll Service

  • Provide Statement of Earnings and Deductions, which includes caregiver’s gross pay, net pay, income tax withholding, Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Employment Insurance (EI) for each pay period
  • Provide monthly report of the employer’s total costs (including the Employer’s portion of CPP and EI) and withholding taxes to CRA
  • Monitor changes to tax rates, CRA regulations, caregiver salary and make appropriate updates to Statement of Earnings and Deductions
  • Calculate the taxable benefits of room and board if applicable
  • Calculate other taxable benefits
  • Provide annual T4 reporting during the caregiver’s employment and file T4 summaries to CRA (one T4 and T4 Summary per account contract)
  • Complete your caregiver’s Record of Employment if your caregiver’s employment is concluded
  • Manage your payroll business account with CRA and Service Canada
  • Solving and answering all inquires regarding the employer’s caregiver tax situation

Remittance Service – Two options available

  1. Caregiver Tax Services will directly receive the remittance vouchers from the CRA and submit CRA remittances on the Employer’s behalf by the CRA deadline
  2. Caregiver Tax Services will provide the remittance amount to the Employer and the Employer will submit CRA remittances directly to CRA

 $500 annually

 Workers’ Compensation Service

  • Set up Workers Compensation Board account if necessary
  • Report Payroll totals to the Workers Compensation Board on behalf of the Employer
  • Caregiver Tax Services will advise the Employer regarding Workers’ Compensation payment options before the due date and the Employer will make payment directly to the Workers’ Compensation board

Year-end Tax Preparation and T1 Filing for Individuals

During their first year in Canada, many nannies/caregivers discover that Canadian income taxes are complex and challenging. Many forget to report their income taxes on time. These nannies/caregivers are losing money and benefits. They could be collecting tax benefits from the Canadian government such as Income Tax Credit and GST Refund.

When an Employer of a caregiver uses our service, we provide the annual personal income tax report to the nanny/caregiver for a nominal fee starting at $ 25.00 per return.

Year-end Tax Preparation and T1 Filing for Small Businesses

We understand that running a successful business takes a great deal of hard work and commitment. Now that you are required to file your business’ year-end tax return, we are here to assist you in that task. Our small business specialists have the expertise to complete tax returns for:
